  • May Intermediate Topic: The Charleston- For the month of May, we will be working on perfecting your technique and swagger for the Charleston. We will teach you how to move seamlessly between Lindy Hop & Charleston moves as well as build your vocabulary. Ever wonder how to make your dancing exciting? Well this class is for you. No partner necessary.
  • Beginner Lindy Lindy Hop: No experience or partner necessary. Drop-ins welcomed every week since we will be teaching different material in each class. Every week we will be adding to your Lindy Hop vocabulary by teaching you 6-count, 8-count, Charleston, and more and showing you how to integrate them all so that you can dance the night away.
  • Dates we will be open in May: 2nd (Live Band Night), 9th, 16th, 23rd & 30th.


Apr. 18th: The Movement Performance at The Den! 

The UC Berkeley performance group The Movement will be performing their Spring 2012 Lindy Hop Routine this Wednesday at the Den. This piece choreographed by Allie Cohen and Scott Wilson appropriates the hot melodies of Benny Goodman and Chick Webb's orchestras to tell a classic story of heartache. Ella Fitzgerald's vibrant vocals help us tell the story of a love-struck girl, enamored devastatingly with a boy who is loath to decide if he loves her in return.

Fun Fact: Both Jean & Bromley first starting dancing with The Movement. They are so excited to see that years later Lindy Hop lives on and keeps getting better and better, especially the costumes as you can see when you compare the above picture to the pictures below. ;o) Movement Rocks My Socks!!!

LIVE Band Night - May 2nd

We are so excited to bring you another LIVE BAND NIGHT at The Dancers' Den!! Rich & The Rhythm Roustabouts will be providing some amazing music for the night where we will be celebrating the end of the semester and new graduates. So take a break from your studies and relax your brain and put on your dancing shoes. This is going to be an AWESOME night!! Drinks will be available for purchase at the bar.

Schedule:
6-7pm Intermediate Swing Lesson
7-8pm Beginner Swing Lesson- NO partner and NO previous experience needed
8-10:45pm LIVE BAND!!!

Tickets are only $4 more than our usual DJ'd nights.
